Up for auction is an absolute classic Pre-Code Horror comic, BLACK CAT MYSTERY #45 in a nice VG condition. The COLORAMA cover and interior story are awesome, and this issue also contains a classic tale by the great Howard Nostrand called LYNCH MOB! This is one of my all-time favorite Pre-Code comics, and with a .99 cent opening bid with no reserve, you can get this one for cheap!
Here are some details on the condition of each issue:
BLACK CAT MYSTERY #45 (VG)
- Book is complete, lays flat, and feels tight
- Cover and centerfold are solidly attached; there is a slight big of pulling at the staples, but it's still pretty tight
- Decent cover gloss, colors still pop
- Interior pages are clean and showing some light browning around the edges
- Interior front and back covers showing some significant browning but covers and pages are supple and not brittle
- There is a 1/2 inch tear at the bottom of the front cover (clear shown in pics)
- Some very light chipping around edges on back cover
- No major defects, tears, staining, or missing pieces
- Overall a very nice VG copy of a truly classic comic book
